Romanian playmaker Nicolae Stanciu will join Damac FC’s first football team on
Thursday for their training camp ahead of the upcoming Saudi Pro League season.
Initially expected to arrive on Wednesday, Stanciu’s arrival was delayed due to travel issues.
Stanciu, who represented Romania in Euro 2024 and took a three-week vacation after exiting in
the Round of 16, will begin training immediately upon his arrival in Slovenia.
The training camp, under the guidance of Romanian coach Cosmin Contra, runs from July 18
until the first week of August.
Five other foreign players are participating in the Slovenian camp, completing the roster with Stanciu.
Recently, the Algerian goalkeeper Mustapha Zeghba and Croatian midfielder
Domagoj Antolić left the southern club. Damac FC kicked off their preparatory matches with a 3-2 victory over
Romanian side Oțelul Reșița on Tuesday, the first of five scheduled friendlies.
