French coach Laurent Blanc, head coach of Al-Ittihad’s first football team, has submitted
a technical report to the club’s management, highlighting the decline in the players’ physical
fitness during the second half of matches last season. Sources revealed that these findings
align with the observations of Spanish sports director Ramón Planes. As a result,
the team’s training camp has heavily emphasized fitness and physical conditioning from the outset.
Since the beginning of the first phase of their camp in Spain, the focus has been
predominantly on enhancing the players’ physical capabilities. The intensity of
the training has been such that the players have only been granted one rest day,
which was yesterday, since the start of the camp. This rigorous regime
has continued into the second phase of the camp, currently taking place in Portugal.
Ahmad Sharahili’s Rehabilitation
On another note, defender Ahmad Sharahili is completing his rehabilitation program at
the “Move” sports medicine center. Sharahili arrived at the center, located in
Riyadh, three days ago after undergoing a rehabilitation program in
Belgium following his cruciate ligament repair surgery. He will continue
his rehabilitation under the supervision of Al-Ittihad’s medical staff at “Move” until
the team returns from their overseas camp.
