talian midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has joined Al-Shabab’s first football team, bringing with him fond memories of his time with the Italian national team. The club announced on their “X” platform that Bonaventura will wear the number seven jersey, a number he previously wore during his last appearance for Italy in a friendly match against Venezuela in March, which Italy won 2-1.
Bonaventura, 34, has never worn the number seven for any club he has represented. Throughout his career, he
has primarily donned the number five jersey during his eight-year tenure with AC Milan and Fiorentina.
Additionally, he wore the number 10 jersey during his time with Atalanta. With the Italian national team
, he has earned 18 caps and scored one goal.
Al-Shabab, a prominent club based in Riyadh, announced on Sunday that they had officially signed
Bonaventura from Fiorentina.
However, the duration of the contract has not been disclosed. Bonaventura brings a wealth of experience
and skill to the Saudi Pro League, where Al-Shabab aims to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
