Al-Hilal’s Key Player Absent from Upcoming Tournament
Brazilian forward Malcom de Oliveira, a prominent player for Al-Hilal’s first football team, is set to miss the
Saudi Super Cup. The tournament begins on August 13, with Al-Hilal facing off against
Al-Ahli in the semi-finals at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha. According to journalistic sources,
Malcom’s absence is confirmed due to a recent surgery on his patellar tendon last month, performed by
Dr. Lempinen in Turku, Finland.
Sources indicate that doubts surround Malcom’s potential participation in the tournament.
The main reason for his absence is the insufficient recovery time following his surgery, despite showing
significant progress in his rehabilitation program. However, his full readiness for the season opener remains uncertain.
Malcom is currently undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation program with Al-Hilal’s team in Austria, under the supervision
of the medical staff and monitored by Spanish doctor Juan Jiménez. The initial phase of his recovery took place in
his homeland following the surgery.
