Portuguese coach Luis Castro has selected four promising young players for Al-Nassr’s first team for the upcoming season.
According to various media sources, the players include Saad Haqoui, Awad Aman, Rakan Al-Ghamdi,
and Abdulrahman Al-Anzi. Haqoui plays as a forward, Aman as a defender, while
Al-Ghamdi and Al-Anzi operate in the midfield.
Youth Inclusion and Squad Composition
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has recently allowed clubs to register five youth players with
the first team, permitting them to participate in both youth and senior categories within the same season.
Al-Nassr has not yet finalized their fifth youth player, but sources suggest it will likely be a Saudi-born player.
The squad for the new season comprises 25 players, including 15 local and 10 foreign players,
with two under 21 years old. Additionally, five youth players can be added to the roster.
Departures and Pre-Season Preparations
As of now, six players have left Al-Nassr’s roster, including Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina,
Waleed Abdullah, Marzouq Tumubkti, Mohammed Qassem, and Abdullah Madu.
Fahd Al-Zubaidi has been loaned to Al-Orobah. Al-Nassr has entered the second phase of their pre-season
preparations in Marbella, Spain, after completing their training in Faro, Portugal.
The team is gearing up for their first official match against Al-Taawoun on August 14th in the Saudi Super Cup.
