Al-Hilal’s first football team concluded their pre-season camp in Austria on Saturday with a 1-0 victory against
Italian side Udinese. The match’s lone goal was scored by Portuguese midfielder Rúben Neves, who delivered
a powerful strike from outside the penalty area, leaving Udinese’s goalkeeper with no chance.
During their Austrian camp, the FIFA Club World Cup runners-up played five previous matches.
They began with a 6-0 win over Austrian club Neusiedl, followed by a 2-0 victory against Qatari club Al-Arabi, and a 2-1 win over
fellow Qatari club Al-Duhail. The team suffered a 1-2 loss to South African side Mamelodi Sundowns but bounced
back with a 1-0 victory over Italian club Como.
According to the club’s announcement, Al-Hilal’s squad will depart Austria on Saturday evening to begin the final
phase of preparations in Riyadh. The team is scheduled to play a friendly match against Al-Najma at the club’s facilities
before the highly anticipated Saudi Super Cup semi-final clash against Al-Ahli on August 13. The match will take place at
Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha.
