Al-Ahli secured a 2-0 victory over Al-Riyadh in a friendly match on Tuesday, as part of their training camp in
Austria in preparation for the upcoming sports season. The match saw goals from Turkish defender
Merih Demiral in the 20th minute and Algerian star Riyad Mahrez in the 36th minute.
Head coach Matthias Jaissle fielded a strong starting lineup, including notable players such as goalkeeper
Edouard Mendy, defender Merih Demiral, midfielders Frank Kessié and Gabri Veiga, and forwards
Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino. Throughout the match, Jaissle made several substitutions, giving playing time to
Muhammad Bakr, Abdulkarim Darcy, Ali Al-Asmari, Bassam Al-Hariji, Abdullah Abdu,
Haitham Asiri, Fahad Al-Rashidi, and Yassin Al-Zubaidi.
This win marks Al-Ahli’s fourth consecutive victory in their pre-season friendlies, following successes against
Ujpest FC of Hungary, LASK Linz of Austria, and Al-Gharafa of Qatar. The team continues to
build momentum as they prepare for the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al-Hilal, scheduled for August 14th in Abha.
